Completed engagement
JFRJ: telephony and public service managed as one
An engagement combining Asterisk, FreePBX, monitoring and gateways to support public assistance and institutional telephony.
At the Federal Court Section in Rio de Janeiro, AstSer delivered an engagement where telephony and service to court users were managed as connected services. Applications, servers, monitoring and physical appliances belonged to the same support perimeter — essential when availability depends on the entire chain.
Applications and infrastructure on one map
The service platform ran on Linux, Asterisk, FreePBX, Asternic, MySQL and PHP. The PBX environment also used DRBD, Heartbeat, DUNDi, OpenLDAP and Zabbix. Audiocodes, Khomp and uTech gateways, IP phones and virtual machines in the Court’s data center completed the landscape.
Work prioritized by impact
Activities included extension features, database synchronization, patches, log analysis, CDR billing and security updates. Incidents followed severity levels: interruption of public assistance or trunks required a shorter resolution time than a routine configuration change.
- protected remote access through VPN;
- environment monitoring with Zabbix;
- corrective and evolutionary maintenance;
- support for integrations and telephony hardware;
- service measurement tied to result targets.
The lesson that remains
The engagement reinforced an AstSer principle: in enterprise voice, software and hardware cannot be managed as islands. A reliable diagnosis starts with the complete path of the call.
